Newzbin.com Feeds

newzbin

I've created feeds for Newzbin.com. Newzbin provides usenet indexing. They've boasted RSS feeds as a soon to be released feature, but I'm sick of waiting. Its about the last site online that I have to manually check. Well not anymore. Available feeds include Xvid, Xbox, Dvd-r, Ps2, and Svcd. If you want something else from the site just drop me a line. If you really want to know you'll figure out how to get in touch.

Newzbin.com

UPDATE x 2:
I added the link to IMDB for the movie links and a link to the NFO file if they have one.
I added a Divx feed per request.

UPDATE x 3:
I added a bunch more feeds.

UPDATE x 4:
I edited the feed links, they’re actually accurate now! Thanks for letting me know they were wrong, Sometimes copy and paste just isn’t your friend.

UPDATE x 5:
I added more feeds per requests.

UPDATE x 6:
I added a PSP feed.

UPDATE x 6:
I added a PSP Video feed.

UPDATE x 7:
I added an emulation feed.

UPDATE x 8:
I added an audio books feed.

UPDATE x 9:
I added an educational books feed.

I just wanted to see some stats on them, and I got what I needed. If you had the proper feed URL’s bookmarked, then you were fine. When requesting the feeds on my site, you were just forwarded via mod_rewrite to Feedburner. […]

  2. Great job. I see one mistake with your list. The last ‘PDA Movies Feed’ entry should read ‘Mac’.

  3. Would it be possible for you to add the following feeds?

    Music - Lossless (http://www.newzbin.com/browse/cat/p/music/lossless/)

  7. Hey man, nice work. i’m curious as to how you did it…if you could write something up that would be awesome. i’d like to try it out too.

    Comment by CunnieLingus — August 4, 2005 @ 9:22 pm

  8. Nice job, be nice if you could create a feed that lists all movies, regardless of format. I think most people don’t want to have to sift through each feed. I just like to know the latest movie uploads…

    Comment by slidenby — August 6, 2005 @ 7:40 pm

  9. Honestly they’re broken up for a reason. Most people know what they want, just doing ALL movies not only flows very fast, but is a nuisance. What quality is it? What’s the source? What is the format?

All of these answers are solved by having seperate feeds. You know its gonna always be no better than a telesync if its an svcd, so if its in the svcd feed, you know. Higher quality is usually in the xvid section. Seperating everything removes ambiguity. Is it really that hard subscribing to multiple feeds? I have over 150 feeds subscribed to, and it all makes it easier for me :)

  10. As for how i made the feeds, i’m basically scrubbing the pages. Since newzbin is formatted very nicely, its not so hard. My script parses the page, pulling out all the important info, and outputs it into an RSS feed. Its not something i can really make a how to on, except breaking up the page and using REGEX to grab the details.

  33. Any idea why yhese feeds dont work in googles personalized startpage?

    Comment by Claus — January 18, 2006 @ 1:34 pm

  34. Would it be possible to release your source to this? If nothing else, I/we could run it on a personal server to use our own bandwidth and stuff. It would also be nice to be able to mod it to figure a way to auto-download certain NZB files. (Would be great to mix it with a release watchdog, and then download like, a new TV show or something whenever it comes out)

  47. As already announced, the XXX section is now in the process of being removed (the previous news item has been superceded by this one), after we received such a requirement from our credit card processing bank.

There is a new XXX site, which is separate from Newzbin itself, to take over the duties of indexing XXX content. The new URL has been circulated, but if you don’t have it, you can try Wikipedia, or pop into IRC. (we are not allowed to link to it on the Newzbin site; bank’s rules).

We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause, but to make up for it, the XXX replacement site is completely free. You do not need any credit to use the features there. (note it’s still under constant development, so let us know if you can think of improvements).

Please don’t leave comments linking to the URL of the XXX site; such comments will be edited or deleted.

Can you help get mew the new web site?? THanks

  59. How feasible would it be to mashup something like the XviD feed with IMDB’s Top 250 movies?

According to http://www.imdb.com/help/show_article?rssavailable, there’s no feed available but the list used could almost be static since it doesn’t change rapidly.
