The editors of the New Oxford American English Dictionary have chosen ‘Podcast’ as the 2005 word of the year. It beat out other words like ‘lifehack’ and ‘rootkit’.

Over the last 13 months, its been pretty crazy. From just a few people sending off their ghetto shows via RSS to ABC podcasting Nightline, podcasting has literally blown up.

So heres to seeing where it goes next.
