PSP Firmware Downgrader
So earlier this summer I finally broke down and got a PSP. The coverage on all the hacking sites was just killing me, I had to get my hands on this killer device. So I went down to Gamestop and traded in a TON of old DVDs and got one.
The first thing I noticed was just how damn sexy it was. Its a really slick device. Good size and AMAZING screen. The second thing that really got me excited was the fact that you could put it to “sleep”. This is so wonderful because it lets you play whenever you want, and does a great job saving the battery. No more saving the game, and then having to reboot and go through a ton of menus every time you want to play.
The third thing I noticed was that my firmware was 1.52. Ugh. No homebrew and emulators for me, homebrew stops booting after 1.50. Because of that, I just went ahead and put v2.0 on it so that I could play with the new browser and other new features. I figured that the hackers would turn their focus to 2.0 anyways. Well thats all over now.
Maxconsole has videos of the new firmware downgrader in full operation. And it works on 2.0!! There’s no release date yet for the app, but here’s a video to tide you over. Gahhhhhh!!! I can’t wait!
UPDATE: The groups that were developing this have split and the downgrader is canceled, if it ever existed.
It was released,
It works too!!
Its called the MPH downgrader.
It only works with version 2.00 though,
Bah!!
