Here’s an awesome post about why everyone should be modding things. Mod-ifying for the lamen. He points out all the great reasons of why we do what we do. The two main reasons I do the projects that I do is that a product/software doesn’t already exists for what I want and that I just love to extend technology and my products as far as I can. I like to buy stuff for what’s NOT written on the box.

His best point of all though is his comment on sharing. If you DO go out and and make/mod/create/combine/solder/build/destroy something, SHOW EVERYONE! Sharing is the best part of a subculture that creates. I don’t see any artists hiding their work, why should you. Not only does showing everyone what you’ve created spark more creativity, we just plain old want to see it! Share and share alike. Google is our friend. Make it, post it, and let google do the rest. Then a few days later someone will, and thats a guarantee, find what you have created and it will solve their problem. Or at least give them a way to kill a Saturday.
