I couldn’t get this to work either, but I have a fairly old version of XBMC so I’ll try updating it.

Support for private pictures is essential btw! :-)

I read the source code and concluded that there is nothing wrong with the logic in the script, the problem is that it has not been updated for +2 years and a lot has happened to the flickr API since. The URL format for both the buddy icon and the photos have changed which breaks the script. After realising that, rather than rewriting it, I googled again and found this script on XBMC Scripts. I read the synopsis and it seamed like it solved the problems I encountered. Of course when tried it it did not work. The fix is quite simple though. The problem is that it still can’t figure out the correct URL to the buddy icon. Fix this by changing the following code on line 452 in default.py […]

Hah! Thats good stuff. I modded an xbox for a media centre pc for my dad for father’s day, but I was leaning towards mythtv and linux simply for a flickr syncing fun ction (bash & a flickr-get script). Now I don’t *need* linux (well, I suppose one always needs linux) but xbmc is so shiny perhaps its perfect for my dad’s needs (KISS).
