The Second Coming of Apple
It was the summer of 1997 and Apple was on its way to becoming “irrelevent” in the industry. Steve Jobs had been back at Apple for 4 weeks, and he’d already made some big changes. Jobs coming back to Apple was a huge event in the timeline of the computer industry. From the beginnings of Mac OS X, to the original iMac, to the i-software (iMovie, iTunes, iDvd), to the iPod, to the iMac G4, to the iTunes Music Store. Apple’s strategy has been patient and practically dead on. They have been successful at a nice pace, and their brand could not be any stronger now. Macworld Boston 1997 was just the beginning of one of the smartest and succesfull strategies in modern business.
