Josh Goes Fulltime on del.icio.us
Joshua Schacter, the developer and maintainer of del.icio.us, announced today that he’s quitting his day job to work full time on del.icio.us. He’s taking outside investment in order to do it, but its going to be worth it in the long run. I think we can look forward to some awesome features soon.
If you don’t already know, del.icio.us is a social bookmarking network. It allows you to bookmarks sites using its site, rather than your browser. This allows users to share their bookmarks with others, use the same bookmarks from multiple computers, and syndicate their bookmarks with RSS. You can check out some of my bookmarks here. I don’t use it as my main source of bookmarks, I just like to bookmark interesting things when I see them, to get them into the network.
