iPod Shuffle
Woo Hoo! After weeks of waiting, and my 15 gig iPod breaking, I finally got my 1gb iPod Shuffle. I've been using it now for about a week and its fantastic. On the first day I carried it around with me like normal without the lanyard. I figured it would be useless and silly anyways. The next night, I had to build a PC for my mother and decided to check out the lanyard. All I have to say is, its ALLLLL about the lanyard.
One thing that makes the lanyard so great is that the Shuffle is so light that I can't even tell its around my neck, so its not a nuisance. Having it around my neck also removes one extra thing from my pocket. Its just completely out of the way, and when I stop listening for a moment, I can wrap the headphones around my neck. When I need to pause, skip next, or turn up the volume, the controls are right in front of me in the middle of my chest. Its a great way to listen. So all night while working on the PC I was listening to my Shuffle, and when I had to get up and do something else, my music came with me. Every where I went as I ran around the house, my music came with. I never had to stop listening to music. This also worked out great while at work. I was really surprised at how well the lanyard worked out.
As far as the new features of iTunes go, they work great with the shuffle. I won't go into details since there are tons of places online you can go to find out about that stuff. One suggestion I can make is to make sure you select “Keep Shuffle in Source List.” This way you can organize your shuffle, then just plug it in and let it sync up. I'll also suggest to not keep the shuffle plugged in while managing it, everytime you do something it starts to sync up and really screws you up.
Overall, I friggen love this thing, and haven't taken it off yet.
