R.I.P. iPod 3G
Tonight I bring bad news. My iPod 3G 15 gig iPod has passed away. I got him the day he came out. Steve Jobs had just announced the opening of the iTunes Music Store and a new model of iPod, the 3G. It had no moving parts, just touch sensitive buttons and a new feature, the dock connector. This feature would soon prove to be the crown jewel of the iPod, letting multitudes of accessories mate with it to create beautiful music at home, in the car, or anywhere else that seemed fit for 3,000 songs.
No matter where I went, he was with me. Whether it was a road trip up Skyline Drive, or a week in Nags Head. He was there. He never missed a party. He entertained with over 8 hours of 80's music in one evening. He was even there when I made the decision to go back to school and finish up. He supported me all semester.
His life came to a tragic hault when he fell from a top story chair, flat on to his back. He might have made it, but he was in the middle of writing to his hard drive when the accident occured. After days of poking and proding, he was announced dead at 03:01 am on February the 1st, 2005. He was 21 months old.

Ipods die, my friend. I am sorry to say mine has passed away as well, maybe they are frolicking around the daisies in apple heaven together? Perhaps.
I must say, I am NEVER, EVER buying an ipod again. Quite the rip off.
