Gameboy Advance
Ok, so after years of eyeing it, I finally picked up a Gameboy Advance this weekend. Overall I'm pretty psyched on it. Its so tiny, light, and has a monster battery in it. I love that its rechargable. Not having to feed it batterys all the time is going to be a welcome change from my first Gameboy. The best surprise from it has been that it has a sleep mode. It's only accessible from the game menu, but while you're playing you can just put it to sleep and close it, instead of haing to save, turn off…turn on, load game, start in a weird spot. I'm definatlly gonna have to go pick up a whatever version of Tetris that plays on it, I'm a sucker for Tetris.
One of the main reasons I got this was to play the new Zelda game that came out for it last week, The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap. Its no secret that i'm a HUGE Zelda fan, and The Link to the Past was one of my all time favorite games of all time, right under Super Mario World. And the chance to play as close to a sequel to that game as it gets was friggen fantastic. It has everything that made A Link to the Past so great, but they have really improved on it and innovated and made it its own game. I'm having a great time playing it.
Honestly, I don't know what took me so long to get one of these things. They are putting out all the old SNES games remixed. That's my favorite generation of gaming. I just don't have fun with new games these days, maybe I'm getting old, or maybe its that i don't have 3 hours to burn just to do a little bit in the game. I think they're just too involved. Gimme a nice side-scrolling platformer and I'm in heaven :)
