You Say You Want a Revolution

evolution

3 years ago on todays date (March 24th) Apple changed its history forever. It shipped Mac Os X 10.0 to the masses. Well, not masses, but a whole lot of curious folks. This new operating system was unlike anything anyone had seen before. It had the power and stability of a UNIX, but yet the polish of a Mac. Geeks everywhere were beginning to see that, yes, they too could work in an environment free of hassle but at the same time, harness the power of the UNIX command line they had grown to love. I for one took one look at my open terminal sitting on top of an open Photoshop file and knew where my computing journey was going to take me next. It was the best thing i’ve ever done sitting in front of a computer and i haven’t had a SINGLE regret since I turned my back on my pc/windows/linux setup.

I encourage you to explore and learn more about Mac Os X. If you are curious, read about it. If you are thinking of buying a Mac, buy it. It won’t be a mistake and you will thank yourself every day. Is it perfect? Of course not. Its an enormous piece of software created by hundreds of humans. There are errors, and there is room for improvement, and if you know me, you know everything has room for improvement. But in the end its better than anything out there. Mac Os X gives you an environment to work in. In a nutshell, compared to windows, it just gets out of your way. And if you’ve used Windows XP you know what i’m talking about.

Happy Birthday Os X! Now… ON TO 10.4!!!

  2. I assume you are talking about the other post… anyways, thats my friend’s icon, and not mine, and he’s running Linux. If you want to make any icon in Os X be your buddy icon, use Pixadex. Its like iPhoto for icons, its a great application, It wil let you right click on an icon and set it as your buddy icon.
