Goin To The Show
Jesus, it feels like a whole month's web hosting fees have gone by since my last post. Time to get my money's worth…
Tomorrow I begin the end of a journey that has lasted short of 5 years. Tomorrow I will see AFI live.
It seems like every time they come around a reason comes up that I miss the show. One year I had to work. Fuck restaurants. Another year a friend wouldn't even pick me up on his way up to D.C. to see them. Another year they played 3 days after I left to go to Denver for a week; and then played in Denver 3 days after I left to come home. WTF! Well nothing short of SARS is going to stop me from seeing them tomorrow night. The show is at the Norva, which despite a lack of sanctioned smoking indoors, is a pretty great place to see a show. I saw CKY and the Flaming Lips there, and now I will finally see AFI. Hmmmm, every one of those bands has a flash site. Coincidence? Or pure marketing blitz?
